ashtanga yoga
Aimed at all levels: One hour led practice (or up to 1 hour 15 minutes Mysore) Beginners will be led through a sequence of poses starting with Sun Salutations to warm up, standing poses and then seated poses. If you are familiar with the primary series you may go at your own pace. These classes involve hands on adjustments and individual assistance throughout. Please indicate at the beginning of class if you would not like hands on adjustments.
Ashtanga is energetic, synchronising breath with movement - a form of moving meditation.
yin yoga
One hour class Yin yoga is the perfect compliment to Ashtanga and Vinyasa styles as it is the complete opposite! Slow moving, staying in each pose for some time, remaining still and just observing the sensations in your body. A great opportunity to slow down.
The evening Yin class starts with breathing exercises to calm the mind, followed by restorative yoga poses where the body is supported to allow the deep connective tissue and fascia to stretch and release. By closing the eyes and moving slowly into each pose and remaining there for sometime, then slowly moving out of each pose, the mind turns inward to feel a deep stillness that nourishes on all levels. Yin is the perfect end to your busy day, and classes are suitable for all levels.
slow flow yoga
One hour class Slow Flow yoga combines slow transitions with gentle flow sequences and Yin poses to have you feeling invigorated and alive, yet peaceful and rested. This style of yoga is suitable for all levels, ages, capabilities and limitations. We welcome everyone to this class. Ease through your week with a Slow Flow yoga session.
bring your baby yoga
One hour class (currently unavailable) Yoga is for the mums/dads/caregivers, and the kiddies stay in the room with us, hanging out, hanging off you, playing with toys, eating snacks on our picnic mat. Please bring your child's own snacks.
It’s a great way to get some mindful movement into your day. And to connect with a great bunch of other mums (dads welcome too).
Yoga is for everyone!
kundalini yoga
In these classes you will learn the fundamentals of Kundalini Yoga - breath patterns (pranayama), basic asana (postures), mantras (sound/chanting), use of the bandhas (body locks) and meditation. Kundalini Yoga is called the Yoga of Awareness, bringing balance to the body, mind, and soul. The practice stimulates the glandular system, strengthens the nervous system, expands lung capacity, purifies the blood, brings energy flow, achieving balance, mental clarity, and physical well-being.
Through energising physical practices with deep meditations and chants, you will be guided to acquire knowledge to anchor, enhance and deepen your yoga practice. We will help you do the best you can do to become the best you can be, developing awareness and unveiling your true self.
No previous yoga experience is required.
sound session: gong bath - vibration is creation
A gong bath is designed to offer relaxation, emotional release, and pain relief. During this session you are invited to lie down on a yoga mat, getting comfortable with blankets and pillows. A facilitator then hits the gong, using a mallet. You simply stay inactive, to passively “bathe” in the healing vibrations of sound. A gong bath holds similar benefits as a warm, steamy tub. Oasis’ Gong baths will be offered in a calm and relaxing atmosphere, a low-lit warm environment with candles. You will be invited to lie down with cushions, bolsters and a blanket to help increase your sense of relaxation.
Gong bath, like all types of sound therapy, allows your brain to relax into a specific (Alpha and Theta dominant) brainwave state. In this state, your brain has time to download what’s been happening in your day. It allows you to process thoughts and emotions.
Helps with: - stress - fatigue - depression - trauma processing - boosts creativity - increases feelings of wellness - stimulates awareness and non-judgmental appreciation of the present moment
During a Gong bath, sound can be used as a point of focus, to meditate, rather than the breath or physical sensations. In this case awareness of sound is not used as a therapy, but rather as an anchor for the mind to come back to. Just like being mindful of breath, being mindful of sound requires finding a happy balance between vigilance and relaxation. A Gong bath is an excellent way to relax, recharge, and reset. It will give you a sense of peace, consciousness, and well-being. You can incorporate gong baths into your monthly self-care routine.
This class is open to everyone, there are no age limits or restricted conditions, and no yoga or meditation experience required. Props are provided for your comfort but feel free to bring your own yoga mat, blanket and cushions. You may also like to bring an eye pillow, or something to cover your eyes. Wear comfortable clothing.
Private sessions are available on request. These are particularly beneficial if you have injuries or limitations with what you can do, if you are pregnant or if you would like to step your practice up to the next level. These sessions are $90 for one person, $50 each for two people.
Bookings for a small private class of four or more people can be at a time requested. Price for this private group class is $30 per person (minimum $120 for the group).
On location additional fee TBA
